The PG Department of English organised Two-Day National Conference on “Literary Kaleidoscope: Diverse Perspectives in English Literature” on Feb 14th & 15th, 2024. The conference aimed to explore and celebrate the multifaceted nature of English literature by embracing various viewpoints and cultural influences.
Inaugural Session: The inaugural session graced by the esteemed presence of Rev. Sr. Ambrose Mary, the Secretary of the institution. Dr. Sr. Victoria, the Principal, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of embracing diverse perspectives in English literature.
Session-I: “Everydayness of Shakespeare” Dr. S. Maran, Principal of Government Arts & Science College, Thiruthuraipoondi, captivated the audience with an insightful exploration of the everyday relevance and timeless significance of Shakespearean literature. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of the enduring appeal of Shakespeare’s works, highlighting their relevance across different cultures and time periods.
Session-II: “Indian Aesthetic Tradition” Dr. Shrawan K., Professor of English & Director, Centre of Canadian Studies, Gurukula Kangri Deemed to be University, Haridwar, Uttarakhand, delved into the rich tapestry of Indian Aesthetic Tradition. His presentation unraveled the nuances of Indian aesthetics and its profound influence on English literature.
