Bon Lumina’24 (Photography Workshop)

August 20, 2024, PG Department of Computer Science & Computer Applications successfully organized an inter-departmental hands-on training program titled “Bon Lumina’24.” The event focused on enhancing students’ photography and editing skills, with more than 200 participants registering for the workshop.

The event was inaugurated by the esteemed Secretary Mother, Rev. Sr. Ambrose Mary, who emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills alongside academic knowledge. She encouraged the participants to make the most of the training to enhance their creative and technical abilities.

Sr. Amalorpavamary, Assistant Professor Department of Computer Science a renowned expert in photography, led the workshop, providing comprehensive sessions on both basic principles and advanced techniques. Her hands-on approach allowed participants to actively engage with the subject, offering practical exercises and personalized feedback.

Throughout the day, she provided comprehensive sessions on various aspects of photography, including camera handling, lighting techniques, composition, and post-processing. The editing sessions focused on using popular software tools to refine and manipulate images professionally.The workshop featured interactive sessions where students engaged directly with the trainers, allowing for personalized feedback and guidance. The hands-on segments of the program enabled participants to apply theoretical knowledge in real-time, enhancing their practical skills in both photography and editing.

The event concluded with a valedictory session, during which the final judgment of the participants’ work was conducted by all the heads of the departments. This evaluation process highlighted the creativity and technical proficiency demonstrated by the students during the workshop. “Bon Lumina’24” was a resounding success, providing valuable learning opportunities and fostering a deeper understanding of photography and editing among students from various departments.
