International Conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Sustainable Business and Management

August 19, 2024 — Bon Secours Arts & Science College for Women successfully held its 2nd International Conference on ‘Emerging Trends in Sustainable Business and Management’ on August 19, 2024. The event, organized by the PG Department of Commerce and Management, explored innovative strategies in sustainable business practices.The conference began with a reflective invocation, followed by the Welcome Address and Conference Note.

Keynote and Special Addresses:

  • Rev. Sr. Ambrose Mary, Secretary, and Rev. Dr. Sr. Victoria, Principal, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the critical role of sustainability.
  • Dr. B. Balamurugan, Former Director of MBA at Thanthai Periyar Government Arts and Science College, shared insights on sustainable business trends.
  • Dr. S. Jeyaraj, Faculty at Sino-British College, China, presented the Keynote Address on global sustainable financial practices.
  • Dr. Leena Nair, Head of Management Studies at Vidyalankar School of Information Technology, Mumbai, gave a Special Address on integrating sustainability into management education, delivered in virtual mode to engage an international audience.

Technical Sessions:

  • Dr. V. Suresh Kumar, Head of Business Administration at Rajah Serloji Government College, led a session on advanced research in sustainable business.
  • Dr. K. Vembu, Head of Commerce at Government Arts and Science College for Women, Koothanallur, discussed emerging trends in commerce and their sustainability implications.

Notable Achievements:

  • The conference attracted 147 students from 16 colleges and received 27 research papers.
  • A Conference Journal, featuring these papers and assigned an ISBN, was released.

The conference concluded with a Valedictory Address by Dr. R. Karthi, Professor at E.G.S. Pillay Engineering College. The Conference Report was presented by Dr. S. Sudha, Vice Principal & Convener. Certificates were awarded to presenters and participants, and Dr. P. Brindha, Coordinator of the PG Department of Commerce, delivered the Vote of Thanks.
